"The U.S. and the Holocaust" (2022)

I've just finished watching this documentary series, "The U.S. and the Holocaust" (2022)

It's a really good historical piece worth watching, albeit a horrifying and unfathomable subject. It's long... 3 episodes at 6-1/2 hours in total... it's gruelling and harrowing, I'll be honest.

The Series is part Anthropology and part summarized history ... the USA didn't perform a miracle and save everyone from the Nazis... this was actually impossible and could not be done by one country (nb. Australia is not free from blame, either!). The USA did the best that it could under the circumstances.

➽  "... the tragic human consequences of public indifference, xenophobia, antisemitism, Govt policies, bureaucratic red tape, and restrictive quota laws in USA..."

➽ There is a great concept presented in episode one: Where did the Nazis source some of their racial segregation laws against the Jews ('1935 Nuremberg Laws') from? Southern USA "Jim Crow" laws...

Official Trailer

As a documentary, it gets a 5 out of 5 from me.

"The more things seem to change, the more they stay the same."
