#This is MS

➽  (NB. Also see [below]:

๐Ÿงก OK, #MSFamily... we know the technical definition of MS, but what other ways can you explain it to others? ๐Ÿงก

Use the hashtag #ThisIsMS and start with “MS is...”

#MS #MultipleSclerosis #MSAwareness #WeGetIt

  • MS is depression. Feeling super isolated and hopeless. Feeling like nobody understands. Then I remember, there's more of us with MS. And we all probably feel this way.
  • MS is going to bed sober and waking up drunk!
  • MS is a *bleep*bleep* that you have to kick hard in the butt every day!
  • MS is looking for something even though you’ve forgotten what it is you are looking for.
  • MS is never knowing what simple tasks will exhaust you from day to day. It’s wanting to get so many things done and not being able to. It’s also very difficult to explain yourself to those you need the most from. MS can be quite burdensome.
  • MS is doing things bassackwards and laughing like mad when you realize it!
  • MS is finding strength at the bottom of the barrel!
  • When you’ve met one person with MS, you’ve met one person with MS.
  • MS is learning when enough is enough whether other people think so or not!
  • MS is learning things you never knew you needed to learn and being a better person for having learned them.
  • MS is being loud and proud of even tiny accomplishments!! We Rock!
  • MS is having two degrees in language and still not being able to summarize the disease in a single sentence.
  • MS is when your immune system takes a shotgun to the connections in your central nervous system.
  • MS is dying inside when you hear one of your kids drop the shampoo in the shower or complain of muscle aches after a workout.
  • MS is waking up every day not knowing if you’ll be able to function.
  • MS is trying to drive a car without any gas, uphill, in the winter.
  • MS is a random bastard.
  • MS is predictably unpredictable.
  • MS is life altering.
  • (MS has) changed my life in a way I could never have imagined... some days it’s hard to move, but I’m slowly getting the power back to control my life. MS will not define me or how I live my life.
  • MS is like the drunk uncle at Thanksgiving who no one wants there, but also can’t quite get rid of.
  • MS is waking up and thinking, am I doing enough to fight this disease? It’s about taking responsibility for how you treat your body. MS demands to be 1st.
  • MS is an unpredictable shit show... it’s the reason I don’t make plans and/or cancel plans... it’s the random pains and inability to use my right side at times... it’s the cause of my mood swings... it’s the illness that completely changed my life.
  • MS is learning to laugh at yourself and the often silly -- and sometimes heartbreaking -- things it causes your body to do.
  • MS is listening to your body, resting and not putting too much pressure on yourself! Not feeling guilty for cancelling plans. However I feel others will never understand. I am supposed to rest, don't tell me I need to 'get out more'!
  • MS is getting used to actually planning time to do NOTHING without feeling guilty.
  • MS is like putting your PC into standby mode. Only it's your body and brain, with just enough power left to keep you breathing but not much else. It's also random, you don't control the 'sleep button' in this analogy.
  • MS is life altering.
  • MS is constantly adapting to challenges the Most Shit disease throws our way.
  • MS is forgiving yourself first for not being able to do it all, forgiving others for not understanding, and accepting that you are STRONG no matter the increments! Strength is power, power is change!
  • The Spirit said ‘you probably should’... The Body said ‘nah, girl. not today’.
  • MS is a disease that makes you learn how to gamble.
  • MS is having a rogue army of white blood cells attacking your nervous system.
  • MS is like living with a really patient Zombie with amazing portion control. Zombie: “Shall I eat a little myelin today”
  • MS is feeling like you’ve turned stupid even though you know you’re not!
  • MS is looking for something even though you’ve forgotten what it is you are looking for.
  • MS is when your immune system takes a shotgun to the connections in your central nervous system.
