Toddler locked in car 'while mum played pokies'
A Wollongong mother could face criminal charges for allegedly leaving her young child locked in a car while she played the poker machines.
The 13-month-old boy was found by staff locked in a car in the car park of the Illawarra Master Builders Club on Thursday afternoon.
They then called police and the NRMA to open the car.
Police say the windows were wound up and the child was seated in a child restraint with no supervision, but was unharmed.
Leaving a child or young person in a car without proper supervision, allowing the child to become emotionally distressed or heat exposed, is a criminal offence. (Story source)
