Doodling

So... house cleaning a bit today, when the brain starts thinking about music... so I sit down and start guitar-doodling an idea that popped into my head, and voila, another song. It's not finished yet, but the general theme and feeling is there already.

Just one of those doodles that drops out of nowhere.

I also need to write something about a family member, who was abducted at 16 and never seen again. I've got the lyrical idea for it, but the music is slightly elusive at the moment.

Plod plod plod.

Singer-songwriters night tonight, but I honestly don't expect anyone new [apart from one or maybe two regulars] to show up... it's bloody cold here tonight, even tho there's a roaring fire where we play. Oh well... I think it's gonna be one of those 'sit in the corner and just doodle with a few friends next to the fire over a few quiet social drinks' nights - actually, that doesn't sound too bad at all !!!

  1. That doesn't sound too bad at all! Hope you have fun. Thats scary about the 16 year old though.

I wish I could write music. I often sing songs in my head that just pop up there and then forget to write them down. I suppose I should write down the words even if I can't put it to music. Oh well.

    Have a great night!

  2. I think the idea of sitting by a roaring fire listening to music would be a great way to spend a night... if I was closer I would go along and listen.

  3. Amazing the times a brilliant idea comes into your head. I think it comes from the subconscious, and when we are not truly concentrating on one thing..it pops into the fore...into our consciousness...and there it is. It always was there, you just need to find a way to channel it out mate.
I look forward to the many thoughts of you coming to light :)

  4. Last night was a nice quiet positive night, actually - thankfully. I ended-up just sitting in the corner 'doodling' for a bit, not really aware that people were actually listening to every note! Whups! How embarrassing.

it's really quite funny... i've got so many ideas and ideas for new songs or 'things' that i don;t know what to do with them all. i'm not going to be a totally pretentious twat and put them *all* on the next CD tho! lol. I might just record some as online items only, perhaps? like on a podcast? i dunno... just thinking aloud :)
