Sometimes... silliness is OK

Not... my... child! hahahahaaa

Sometimes things are better left visualized!

And oh yes... the gig and sailing went amazingly well on the weekend... I'm just delaying writing about it, for no real hidden reason apart from just being a lazy-arsed sod.

In 1882, American Old West outlaw Jesse James is killed by Robert Ford for a $5,000 reward. (Brings back memories of all those old b&w westerns I used to endure as a kid! The only 'Westerns' I own and watch these days are "The Good The Bad and the Ugly" and Clint Eastwood's masterpiece "Unforgiven").

In 1924, Marlon Brando, American actor born (d. 2004) (Yes, in his day he was a really fine actor, but ended up being a parody of himself in his last years, sadly).

In 1943 Richard Manuel, Canadian musician and songwriter (of "The Band") born (d. 1986). (Why isn't there any good decent 'old school' music made like this anymore, dagnammit?!)

In 1973, the first portable cell phone call is placed in New York City. (How times have changed... who among us does not check they have their fully-charged mobile phone with them before walking out the door or getting into their car? What the hell is wrong with us? We never needed them when we were growing up, did we? They didn't exist and we got along just fine without them. There's something seriously flawed with modern western society in some sad impersonal way... look at blogging... oh shut up, Mal...)

In 2000 - United States v. Microsoft: Microsoft is ruled to have violated United States antitrust laws by keeping "an oppressive thumb" on its competitors. (Has anything changed? When I first tried Vista, it didn't allow non-Microsoft software to be used! Ferking JOKE!!!)
