Old Grey Cat

Downtown lately, I noticed an old Picture Framing business has closed down. It's elderly owner would often sit out the front, enjoying the sunshine, coffee-in-hand, smoking and chatting happily to passers-by.

Usually with him was an old grey short hair cat, that would always ask for a happy stroke as you passed.

I saw the cat this time - which came up to me, and I had a quick pat'n'chat - but the elderly gallery owner was not there.

Now, I don't know if he simply retired or what, but it felt like a little part of that street had left us.

Maybe it's just a country town thing? Do local people like these possibly get overlooked in larger metro areas?

No no... not this cat!
