D&M

Eddie and I took all of five minutes to get the song 'Revelry' together last night, complete with an arrangement, structure and harmonies. Five minutes. This is simply fantastic to work on brand-new unknown songs together and have them come together so easily and well. Wholly unlike last year when a simple song like this one would have taken a certain someone at least a month to get together... ferk that!

In the cool of the evening last night, Eddie and I sat out in the refreshing night air for about two hours in the encroaching darkness, just casually chatting. Taking about the passing and deaths of our parents. It was a brilliant "D&M", but totally relaxed, comfortable and natural to just reminisce and reflect on things from our past together. Really special time. Not morbid or anything like that, but actually really refreshing for the both of us to be able to talk about stuff we obviously haven't talked about with anybody else in a long time.

The Victorian bushfires are far from being over... the official death toll currently stands at 181...

  4. Thats so awesome, I am pleased for you to have a D&M. It is always good to realese and chill.
We did this last night here at home with the kids. There is so much about the bush fires and we wanted to make sure the kids are ok with all the information they have received via media and other kids at school. We all felt better.

  6. I don't get why talking about death would be considered "morbid" in any way. It's a part of life, and just because our loved ones are dead, doesn't mean we can't talk about them. On the contrary, I feel I am honouring my child, my brother, my father and others by speaking their names and remembering them and times spent with them. It's good that you have an outlet to talk. You're a sensitive soul.
