I was in Australia this February when Kevin Rudd made his famous speech apologizing for the treatment of the indigenous Australian people. I was very moved and impressed by it.
I don't expect anything similar to happen in the USA. Perhaps one day a Native American will become president of the USA and an Aborigine will become Prime Minister of Australia? I wonder when?
