Surreal

I know my G.P. (ie. doctor) is a good one when I need to book an appointment a whole week ahead just to see him - whew! But it's all good.

The first appointment with a referral person re. my counseling went well this afternoon... it was only a quick consultation to see where best to send me with what would be of most assistance etc. I was expecting (and they'd scheduled) a whole hour to do it... I was out in fifteen minutes! rofl. Apparently I am quite insane, and they quickly tied me up in a straight jacket and bundled me off brusquely into the back of a waiting back van and... no no no [giggles]. I should get a phone call before the end of the week letting me know where and when and all that.

It's all rather surreal... talking about my manic attack last week almost offhand, as though it was a second-person account. Plus trying to sort thru some different avenues to help me work with with some issues that happened in my way-dim-distant past, that still affect things for me today. But it's all good.

I saw the funniest thing earlier this afternoon, Paige... I was in town grabbing a few quick items of groceries, and walking past two teenage girls eating their lunch, we almost fell over laughing in hysterics - at the sight of a three-year-old boy "pop the bird" at us, as plain as day, as he walked past us! It looked absolutely hilarious! Twas moments like that I wish I had my camera! The things kids do... hrm... well, let's be honest... they only do what they see their parents doing... isn't that sad?

My weekend was a positive one, even if none of it went to plan. I didn't end up seeing the boys, but that's no huge matter. They got to go to the Show anyways, which is the main thing. I thought I'd try my hand and go out sailing instead... but the water at the local lake/dam was green. Basically - yuck! Then Sunday morning, we all got a phone call from our drummer, unfortunately postponing our afternoon rehearsal for Box of Sox... his wife was stuck in bed with a pretty crook back. Family comes first... he couldn't leave her alone with a 5-month-old daughter there. That's fine. No problem. I was contemplating going to the Show myself, but the thought of hoards of sweaty people, and the sickening aroma of melting popcorn and fairy-floss didn't really appeal to me! I ended up going for a nice walk in the sunshine instead, then spending the arvo/evening watching the Aussies get demolished by the Indians in the cricket. Oh well. It happens.

So yeah... while none of that was what I'd planned, it kinda ended up a positive weekend all the same.

At least I spent some time Sunday morning re-setting up both of my basses again... fine-tuning the bridge and actions and all that... just a tiny fine-tweaking, just to make playing already-beautiful-to-play guitars even nicer to play. Gees, they're so nice to play. I dunno how I put up with my old crappy guitars for so many years' gigging! I guess I just did, as I didn't have much of a choice in those days. Golly... I still remember playing my very first pub gig with a band, back in late 1985!!!!

Oh... and I burnt three new DVDs as well. So yeah... there was something vaguely constructive about it all as well. Yay.

Here's something I found very interesting whilst cruising this evening...

  5. Thank you, ladies! I appreciate your concern and comments.

I guess the 'balance' got out of kilter there for a few days... just really glad to be out the other side of it now.

I dunno about that shark pic... I don;t think it's "Shopped", because there are enough hard-core nutters out there to actually try something as berko as that!!!
