I don't watch anime at all... however...
"Made in Abyss" is something completely... emotionally awe-inspiring... on so many levels (no pun intended).
I've just finished the last episode of the third season: "Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun"... (with English subtitles, thankfully)...
5 out of 5 completely, the whole series.
The writing, the art, the characterization, the music... all completely first class. Breathtaking. I've run out of appropriate words.
I stumbled across the first series quite by accident a few years ago, and have been entranced by it ever since.
It starts off as an adventure with a group of kids... but it goes... somewhere completely... different... darker... personal...
