Bo Diddley's Gone Now, Too

Rock 'n' roll pioneer Bo Diddley, who banged out hit songs powered by the relentless "Bo Diddley beat" that influenced rockers from Buddy Holly to U2, has died at the age of 79.

"One of the founding fathers of rock 'n' roll has left the building he helped construct." (Story)
I learnt to play a lot of rhythm guitar chugging along to his style. I really learnt a lot about "feel" in music with his stuff. It's a crime that a lot of modern players don't appreciate his guitar style... there seems to be so few "feel" players around lately. There's technical ability, yeees... but give me "feel" and "soul" any day, rather than a whole swag of "poorly-chosen notes" played fast. Pooh!

Requiescat in pace.

  3. This is so very sad. You got it right, he played with his heart and soul. This is rare today. I have been playing this music on and off today. It fills my soul.

Thank you for your very supportive comments. It helps and means a lot.
