Heel Spur

To top it all off, I've developed a heel spur on the bottom of my heel on my left foot. Has been making me hobble around a bit like some old cripple. More annoying than anything. So - no more wearing of thongs but proper shoes for a while!

The funny thing is - my dad used to have the same thing at one stage!

I've no idea what can be done about it at this stage. Just have to wait and see what 'they' decide.

Maybe this might be a good look for me for a little while? lol

  1. I think heel spur is actually quite common but doesn't always affect everyone. It's very painful, I'm not sure if this was the what embee had a few years ago must ask him wen he gets home. Hope they can do something for you (hugs)

  2. Poor Mal- pain is not very good for making you less depressed! I can sympathise too- I have sore "crunchy" feet- tendinitis with calcified bits all through my feet that feel like millions of splinters, plus both feet chocka with extra bones! I just use Voltaren gel and tablets if they get really bad. Try to ignore them the rest of the time. The physio prescribed high heeled shoes!! I hate them- always wear nearly flat. I have no idea what they can do about your spur- try to avoid operations on your feet as they will always have to hold you up.

  3. I thought i was looking at my xray but I have 2 heel spurs.

one right where that picture shows one and another on the same foot but on the back of the heel.

The right shoes help alot!!! mind you I walk all day at work! Once in awhile it gets so painful that I beg for the shot(I believe it's cortizone) in the heel just to make the pain go away.

  4. My mum had those at one point. I don't think she did much for them

Bet your Dad didn't think it was funny. Sorry I know its just a figure of speech. But Mr Mal, while I'm in a castigating mood, if you think for one minute that 'they' will make a decision with your best interests in mind rather than what fits in with 'their' agenda, you are sorely (obviously) mistaken. It looks very painful. But with anything such as this NEVER leave it up to so called 'health professionals' to take action on your behalf or do anything half-way sensible. NEVER put your life into the hands of anonymous nobodies behind hospital walls who don't give a shit about you. Not until you have exhausted all other avenues, or are so thoroughly boned-up on your subject that you are able to tell them a thing or two about your options--or you are comatose. And in the latter, may God protect and preserve us all from the bureaucratic inanities who run hospitals and the always exhausted and often brain dead 'health professionals' who attempt, to function therein.

    Sorry, forget all that.

Fully sick x-ray Mal. Or some.
